two things...

first here is the pattern of the dress i mentioned in my last post.
i have terrible follow through with tough projects so here is me still working.
i cut 95% of the pattern out last night.
i plan to start sewing Friday or Saturday.
I am using a bed sheet first to make sure i don't ruin my good fabric
with rookie mistakes.
i haven't sewn using a pattern in 10 years or so.
did i mention this pattern is from 1978. love.

the second thing i wanted to show you are my super fun nails!
i painted them last night using this technique.
it looks like spring on my fingers.:)
there is nothing more fun than unique than these!

this weekends finds...

so i went out antiquing with some friends of mine.
i found the jackpot.
for weeks I've been hoping to randomly find these bad boys.
i hate jo anns. not for any other reason than its too big and too expensive.
i found two unopened bags of stuffing at my fav antique mall.
for $1 each! ahhh i was so excited!! i love a good deal.

then i found this.
for weeks and weeks i have been searching for a cute indian print shirt or dress.
well here it is!
i will be making this 3 5/8 worth of fabric into a vintage maxi dress.
so here you get to see a shot of it just as fabric.
i cannot wait to make this dress.
i really hope i don't screw it up!:)

i love love thrifting things out of pittsburgh.
it is my most favorite thing to do.

happy mr rogers day

today is mr. rogers birthday aka mr. rogers day!
so happy birthday fred rogers. i hope heaven is wonderful!
today folks around the burgh bring out the cardigans!;)
how handsome is my boy.
he wears this outfit a lot in the winter and i love it.
i hate that today is a little too warm for this outfit,
but today you could pull off a cardigan for sure.

mr rogers is a big deal in pittsburgh.
he has a statue and a dinosaur which is in front of WQED.
here are some of my favorite mr rogers quotes...
“The child is in me still and sometimes not so still.”
“In times of stress, the best thing we can do for each other is to listen with our ears and our hearts and to be assured that our questions are just as important as our answers.”
“Knowing that we can be loved exactly as we are gives us all the best opportunity for growing into the healthiest of people.”

i hope your day was great!
if you wore a cardigan today post a link in the comments below.

chalk board window..

so i have had two old window i bought for $1 each from construction junction.
i have been hanging on to them waiting for the perfect project.
well thanks to my favorite blogger i finally found that project.

well first i was so excited about painting it a color bc i could.
my chalk wouldn't show up on the light orange paint.
so i added the black bc well the box of unsanded grout
was dirt cheap for a giant box.

i loved the way it came out.
i cannot wait to write fun notes in our kitchen on this bad boy.

i now want to paint everything with chalkboard paint!

happy 3 years!:)

this past weekend we celebrated our 3rd anniversary at a b&b.
we drove 5 and a half hours to lexington, va to stay at 502 South Main.
we had such a relaxing and wonderful adventures in lexington.
this is us out front of 502. the house was perfect!
i absolutely loved sleeping in a king sized bed and the delicious breakfast
mary stuart cooked for us. we also had friendly fun couples staying
at 502 the same time as us.
we loved the old old side walks they were so different.
we tried our best to walk a lot and not drive.
that was also really fun bc we saw lots we would have missed otherwise.
we ventured into shops and checked out all the civil war stuff we could.
this is us on our picnic lunch in the park which was delicious.
the weather was amazing this day. we did a little antiquing and took it slow.

i have a go go go personality so it was so nice not to do that.
we just rested a lot walked and enjoyed each other.
that is what i hope for all our anniversaries in the future.
