2013 decision...

I have liked hunting for awesome vintage items since we moved to Pa.

It started out small garage and yard sales.

Then it grew into estate sales and driving all over.

I liked decorating with my finds & finding them was like a game.

New to 2013..

Here are just a few new places i have found inspiring..

first step to new...

new cowl & new ish hair.

our new home.

[the snow is 12x as bad in new castle]

the next thing i've started new in 2013 no sugar treats in january.

it is nuts how addicted i am to desserts..mostly ice cream and pies.

[i have thought about them both while not having them]

so i have lost 4 pounds since jan 1st when i started this.

which is nuts i know but so encouraging to see that difference.

i just cut one thing out of my routine and replaced it with fruits or veggies.

in my time off i have been more into cooking which helps this a lot.

the plan is to start a primal lifestyle of eating when we move.

this will help with shea's crohns & give us both more energy!

so this is what is new just in january.

it feels so good!!

goodbye 2012..

Spring 2012

We  made so many new friends during this time.

My sister came to visit.

My cousin face[emma] came to visit me.

My very best friend Taniya came to visit.

I started prepping to sew a dress.[will finish in 2013, fingers crossed]

Baby Clare celebrated her first birthday.

Summer 2012

Retore my acl by running to first base & being crushed by a big dude in softball.

Hit up some serious killer finds at estate sales.

Went to the beach with my family.

Shea & experienced the greatest loss we could've ever imagined.

The Mckee's, Robby, Shea and i went white water rafting.

Met my new amazing friend katie!

Fall 2012

The twins started school & i stopped watching them.

I worked a little less hours a week. :)

My mommy came to visit again!!

Robby came to be our new room mate!

I had a super successful craft show.

Discovered my love for audiobooks & have already finished two!

Learned how to knit.

Winter 2012

Shea was offered & accepted a new position in New Castle, Pa.

With a huge help from Jesus we found a house to live in New Castle.

I won a giftcard for a free massage i will be getting after our move.

Went to NYC during christmas time w/our bffs.

Saw & won cheap tickets to newsies!!

Finally got a Wanda Teel painting!

Had two weeks off work to begin our packing adventure.

At this current moment i think i am experiencing every emotion possible.

i would love to just bundle all that i love and take it to new castle with me.

Moving is a tough business in so many ways.

i am so excited for 2012 to be over. it was 110% my hardest year, ever.

i am ready for a new start this year.

i am taking a more backseat approach this year.

more down time. more me time. less crazy running around.

Four years of running crazy caught up to me hard this year.

so 2013 let's be restful and full of joy, k?

ok good, let's go!

so sometimes it's just nice to remember how much love i have.

love i have inside me for the people i know.

love that they have for me no matter what.

i'd like to call this picture the seester squish.

and these folks..are nuts but they are my most fav.

i want to just squeeze this picture.

so 2013 is the year of remembering and hanging on to love.

we won the lottery to see newsies.

this is a trip ive always wanted to take.

it was amazing!

im so glad we got to go with our best friends!

pumpkin carving

if we didn't live in the city i would make this a reality.

is this not the best pumpkin carving you have ever seen??

it came from here. i would love to make this happen in the future.

so this is the first pumpkin i have carved yet this halloween.

i am pleased with how it turned out and will carve two more before

october is over.

new halloween..

i did some new crafting this year. 

i made some halloween themed garland.

used the tutorial here

it was super successful and i would use it a million times.

i hope to carve our pumpkins soon and post about them.

little love..

in all my years of watching kiddos she takes the cake.

she is my girl.

she was such a toughie but of all the kids outside my family

 she loves me the mostest.

look at this face.

so much love. she waits for me everyday even when i dont go to her house.

she looks for my car and runs to me when i walk in.

 i think she will always be tough and strong and i will always remember her.

i never knew a tiny little person could love me more than the others in my past.

i was wrong and here she is little miss love.

forgotten..

oh man.

i forgot all about posting this.

i made this coat rack/backdoor hanger.

we really needed something to hang stuff from by the backdoor.

so i dreamed this up.

i stained this long piece of wood and cut up some goats and donkeys.

spray painted those goats and donkeys bright fun colors.

then glued their fronts and butts to the piece of wood.

then rigged it up with fancy green ribbon.

i love this project.

i love how it turned out.

i love how we use it and it has a function.

there's not much better!

my latest big find...

i have been looking and looking for these beauties.

i found 17 stinking old letterpress letters at a rummage sale.

they were $1 each.

did your jaw drop? mine did!:)

well i have a few ideas of crafts for these

but right now i am just going to soak them in.

A.Human’s Take Me Home

revamped toms

sooo i have had a pair of toms for about three and half years.

i knew when i got them that they weren't going to last forever.

so this is what the before looked like..

 and this is the after.

 with a patch of fabric, some fabric glue, a needle, thread

and good company they have new life.

[fyi this project took about an hour and a half, it was worth it]

i am excited about these shoes being fixed up for fall.

i think when the rest of the shoe gives out i will recover the whole shoe.

i am just not ready to let the cool burlap look go just yet.

metal cart redo

so i posted about a metal cart i found for $2 about a month ago.

i am planning on it being a hot chocolate cart.

here is the cart currently in our kitchen.

i used a metal paint by martha stewart and it matches some

of the colors of my vintage pyrex.

it is all ready for the fall..ready for hot chocolate serving.

hurray!:)

frogs..

alright folks.

i have just started collecting these little beauties.

they are called frogs and they are so much fun!

i have around 6 of them now.

two are holding up pictures & two are holding flowers from my friends garden.

the other two are waiting for a purpose.:)

the one above and the one below are just slightly different.

i like them bc they already have a small vase attached.

this is what the other four look like.

they are all different sizes.

if you google metal vintage frogs there are some amazing looking ones.

i hope to one day own the super cool looking ones then group them together.

im starting my little metal frog family.

favorite find..

this old flag.

its kinda yellowed, kinda torn up at the bottom and kinda awesome.

i loved it and i really don't know why.

i just want to hang it in a room.

not because of any reason other than i think its beautiful.

i only paid $5 for it.

from an estate sale of course.

it is the most fun to me to hunt for these super awesome old treasures.

portable dishwasher upgrade

well we bought this portable dishwasher about a year ago.

it was used off of craigslist.

most of our home is white bc we are renting.

so i am adding color where i can.:)

 i had a roll of vintage wallpaper i had just laying around.

our kitchen counter in our duplex matches this yellow.

so with some hot glue and some time boom.

vintage dishwasher upgrade.

happy first day of fall

happy first day of fall y'all!

this was the first mum i planted this week.

found this coffee can at an estate sale for 50 cents.

it is just the look i wanted for our front porch.

homemade three tier stand..

i have been dying to make this since i first saw it on Life as a Thrifter.

i did mine way different so here are my supplies.

can you see the darker candle stick and that bow thing?

there was also something similar to it on the top but i broke it off.

so tacky.

i went with white bc i want these babies to display most of my seasonal decor.

this may change bc i am in not a white kinda gal.

[guess what that beautiful teal color is...my metal cart.]

here is the finished product.

i really like it. i hope it does all i imagine it will.

 i got everything for this project from many of my favorite pgh spots.

two estate sales, creative reuse & the habitat restore.

the bottom tray is my favorite part of this whole deal.

those handles just make it for me. i love it!

also i am not 100% but i think i made this whole project for about $3.

boom even better.
